Well I'm back from my weekend at Xara... and lets just say it was a BLAST. I had a great time every day. The weather was moderate, and the people and attractions were everything I hoped for. When you get a chance ask me more about it. Here is a picture Sarah took of me... http://www.flickr.com/photos/sdtj/140006353/ More of her pix on her flickr... http://www.flickr.com/photos/bossyphotographer/138366182/ Submitted by tfiske on Wed, 03/29/2006 - 00:28.
As part of Burning Man, one always rides their bike around the playa. This year a group of us are going to get lights for our bikes to make them more visable. While researching, we came across the following kit, that lets you upload your own images into the lightbar, and if desired add animation to the image. As you can see above. Each of these kits runs about $40 a tire, and to get fluid graphics at slower speeds you actually need 2-3 bars. So it starts to add up quickly. But the idea of soldering this all together and making it work just sounds cool! Submitted by tfiske on Thu, 02/16/2006 - 21:50.
I am not able to go on this Diving Trip with the Qualcomm group this year, but I do plan on visiting Scuba Club Cozumel at some point. http://www.scubaclubcozumel.com/index.html Reminds me alot of Hotel Cantamar in La Paz. Submitted by tfiske on Thu, 12/01/2005 - 19:48.
This is a good site for finding coupons for car rentals... I am sure the main site has links to coupons for other things, but when you want to rent a car for $36 a day, or $140 for a week... this is the site. http://www.rentalcodes.com/budget.html Submitted by tfiske on Wed, 08/31/2005 - 21:09.
UPDATE These stops have been cancelled. Hoping to goto Atomic Museum at the bottom
Montezuma's Castle http://www.nps.gov/moca/ No map... just these instructions... Montezuma Castle is located 3 miles off Interstate 17. Use Exit Number 289 and follow signs. Do both PIMA AMARC and Titan for $14.25 a person. The PIMA AMARC is the location where the tour of the B-52 Airplane Graveyard leaves from. This reminds me I used Microsofts TerraServer to create a LARGE image of the Airplane Graveyard, this will take a while to load. Just wait. Submitted by tfiske on Wed, 10/06/2004 - 16:51.
Some friends of mine travelled to Africa this past September. They used 2Africa as their tour company and had great things to say about it. For 15 days of travel, flight, and park entrance, they paid $3,300 per person. They were in Tanzania and Kenya. Way to go Tanya and Jim... Submitted by tfiske on Thu, 09/30/2004 - 20:40.
The Magic of Napa With Urban Polish Published: September 8, 2004 HE butter-poached lobster almost did it, but not quite. I had been wooed with succulent lobster before. The Island Creek oysters and Iranian caviar, mingled in a kind of sabayon that I was served during that same dinner and during others, made a seductive case. But I was wary of such ostentation. In the end, it was a different night and a nine-course vegetable tasting, of all things, that made me drop any reserve, cast aside any doubts and accept the fact that I loved Per Se — and that this preening, peacock-vain newcomer deserved it. A friend of mine is going to Lake Tahoe for a bachelorette party.

Well for those of you who remember me going to Burning Man last year with my buddy Lars Liden, you should know that after last years trip, he was dead set on creating an art car to be able to enhance his experience on the playa. Well his site has been updated with the current status of his Gravity Bowl, which is more science and engineering than vehicle.
