Google Talk from Trillian

Well I found Google Talk to be... less than interesting... It was very annoying that when I installed it and went to add people to my non-existant buddy list, that it sent them all an unsolicited email telling them to sign up. I was just adding gmail users... but oh well. So nobody I know really logs into Google Talk. So rather than running another client, I found out that since its based on Jabber, I can add GTalk to my Trillian client. I found the following instructions on the net.

I now have it running under Trillian 3.1 Pro Build 121.. easy as pie to add.

* If you don't already have it, download the Jabber plug-in from Cerulean Studio's site.
* Go to 'Preferences'.
* Click 'Plugins'.
* Activate the Jabber plug-in.
* Click 'Identities & Connections'.
* 'Add a new connection' ... 'JABBER'
* Enter your gmail address in the JID field (i.e. '[email protected]')
* Enter your gmail password.
* Select auto connect, if you're so inclined.
* Click 'Change'
* Set server host to 'talk.google.com'
* Click 'Save Settings'
* Click 'Connect'
* 'Close' preferences
