iPod your Corvette – its not just for BMW anymore…

The guys at PAC have created an iPod connector that plugs into factory car stereo systems so that you can not only use your stereo's built in track changing ability. But also you can have the audio fed in at a line level, rather than through annoying RF (radio) waves. The Corvette is on the list of cars supported! Infact, since I have the CD player already in the trunk, this may be a pretty clean install with no dash work! WOW.

Update: Found a link for the AuxPod - $159.00 + $7.95 cable
UPDATE: 11/30/04 OK, found a totally new product... Neo iOn That works just like the AuxPod, but seems to be cheaper, especially if you can get about 5 people to buy them.

Cheap Aux-Pod and description $159.99

audio outfitter.com - just the cable and AUX-BOX, not POD

No word on pricing yet... it just shipped this past week. But it looks like you can get the AuxBox from Good Guys in the coming weeks. They bought a huge order. I would imagine that they can get the AuxPod in the following month? But until then, I'm going to be calling La Jolla Audio 858 581-6545 to see what the cost for installation is. 😀

Packet Captures on Windows

On the UNIX side of the world there is a great utility called tcpdump, that allows you to capture traffic from the network. The nice part is its ability to do so from a specific host to multiple hosts, allowing you to filter out traffic between your self and a specific server pretty easily.

In addition to intalling the winpcap driver, that allows your network card to go into promiscous mode. You can install Analyzer which is a free gui based packet capture and analyzer for windows.
